When your patient needs more than a traditional allograft

Bone Viable Matrix and Growth Factors

Autograft is still considered the gold standard for bone grafting, but the risk and cost of an added donor site surgery may not be desirable. The closest alternative are Bone Viable Matrix products or BVM which, like autografts, support all aspect of bone repair by being:

  • Osteoconductive: scaffolding to form new bone
  • Osteoinductive: bioactive growth factors trigger new bone growth
  • Osteogenic: bone forming cells
  • Angiogenesis: new blood cell formation

Autograft and BVM are the only bone graft materials that contain osteogenic cells and can augment the patient’s own osteogenic cells to support bone repair.

Often advance biologic products are only considered for compromised patients as cost may be prohibitive in everyday cases. Today, clinicians can utilize BVM in routine cases for improved results than with only non-viable bone grafting options.

Handling characteristics

alloOss Plus BVM fibrous material allows for easy forming around defects.

Proprietary Processing

  • alloOss Plus proprietary processing addresses the need to preserve the osteoinductivity in viable bone matrix. This processing is designed to maximize the growth factors naturally present in the bone that support bone formation.
  • alloOss Plus is processed and sterilized to the highest standards set forth by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB®) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
